BSRA is a nonprofit, public service-focused organization wholly owned and operated by Battelle Memorial Institute. Battelle is the world’s largest, independent non-profit R&D organization with experience managing and operating seven national laboratories, and demonstrated performance driving operational process improvement and culture change.

SUBCONTRACTORS
BSRA’s team includes five leading universities with expertise in a wide range of areas relevant to Savannah River National Laboratory: Clemson University, Georgia Tech, South Carolina State University, the University of Georgia, and the University of South Carolina. In addition, BSRA’s team includes two small business subcontractors, Longenecker and Associates, Inc. (L&A) and TechSource, Inc., who have specialized expertise in specific areas of Savannah River National Laboratory’s scope of work.
Clemson University is a public, research-intensive, land-grant university in Clemson, SC with innovation campuses in Charleston, SC and Greenville, SC that has scientific research and education strengths in Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, Computer Science, Electric Power Systems and Environmental Engineering.
Georgia Tech is the largest science and engineering program in the country, with major emphases on cybersecurity, high performance computing, environmental management, radiochemistry, tech transfer, and industry partnerships.
South Carolina State University, an HBCU (historically black college and university), is the only university offering a four-year, undergraduate degree in nuclear engineering in the State of South Carolina with a focus on training students to fulfill global workforce demands in critical areas including environmental management and remediation, national and homeland security, advanced manufacturing, and material science.
The University of Georgia, the birthplace of American public higher education, is committed to excellence in discovery, learning, and innovation for the public good in support of the national security mission, with an over 50 year partnership with the Savannah River Site through the UGA Savannah River Ecology Laboratory.
The University of South Carolina System is globally recognized for superior student experience, community engagement and innovation and is committed to environmental restoration, national security and human health through science and strategic partnerships.
Longenecker & Associates provides project management support for quality assurance, regulatory integration and the contractor assurance system as well other technical support functions.
TechSource provides subject matter experts and technical support, as needed, in the performance of plutonium operations, pit production, and other mission areas.
